Refund & Cancellation Policy
Because of the nature of private investigation work, the following policy applies.
1. Deposits & commencement of work
A deposit (typically 50% of the quoted fee) is required to secure services and commence work. Once work has started — including initial research or allocation of time — the deposit is non-refundable except as set out below.
2. Cancellation by client
You may cancel at any time by written notice (email is sufficient). If you cancel before any work has commenced, we will refund the deposit in full, less a reasonable administration fee (£50 or 10% of the deposit, whichever is greater). If you cancel after work has commenced, you will be charged for all work carried out and expenses incurred up to cancellation (minimum the deposit), and there is no refund for work already performed.
3. No “no results” refunds
We do not offer refunds on the basis of “no results” or an unsatisfactory outcome. Private investigation work is inherently uncertain. Fees are for the time, expertise and resources expended, not for a guaranteed result. We always report honestly on what we have been able to find within the agreed scope.
4. Our right to withdraw
We may withdraw from or terminate an engagement if continuing would involve unlawful or unethical conduct, if you fail to provide necessary cooperation, if you are in material breach of our Terms, or if a conflict of interest arises. In such cases we will refund any unearned fees paid, less reasonable costs incurred.
5. Consumer rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you believe we have not provided services with reasonable care and skill, please contact us first.
6. How to request a refund or cancel
Please email info@ullrintelligence.co.uk with your full name, engagement reference and reasons. We aim to respond within 5 working days and to process approved refunds within 14 days, using the original payment method.
